"Australia" is an epic and romantic action adventure, set in that country on the explosive brink of World War II. In it, an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) travels to the faraway continent, where she meets a rough-hewn local (Hugh Jackman) and reluctantly agrees to join forces with him to save the land she inherited. Together, they embark upon a transforming journey across hundreds of miles of the world's most beautiful yet unforgiving terrain, only to still face the bombing of the city of Darwin by the Japanese forces that attacked Pearl Harbor. With his new film, Luhrmann is painting on a vast canvas, creating a cinematic experience that brings together romance, drama, adventure and spectacle.

I would say that I'm quite fascinated with this movie. I found it inspirational and believe me, I cried. The fact that I'm a sucker for drama flicks/films etc. does not help the situation either. =="
I watched this together with my cousin YeeErn, the other day when I went out with her to 1U few days back, 29th Dec(Monday). This movie is definitely worth the RM10 I paid. Magic, music, love, memories, anger, fear, hate, awe and hope fill this movie as much as the natural beauty of Australia fills the screen. It's definitely an EPIC. The acting was top notch too. Hugh Jackson (eye candy!! XD)plays a good Australian and Nicole Kidman plays a good English person. But the one who stole the show always seems to be the least expected one. Brandon Walters(who plays the Aboriginal boy Nullah)was great. He stole every scene he was in and damn, I cried in most of the scenes he was in. I would definitely want to see more of him in the future.
I thought this movie was great but like all movies it had its sour patches. What I didn't really like about the movie was the pretty slow pace in the first half. It appeared draggy at some parts and thoughts like, 'Get on with it!' ran through my mind a couple of times. The ending was... well, I'm not sure WHY I don't like it; I just don't. Perhaps it's because I expected a better ending?
Here's a few pictures I found from the net. =)

Hugh Jackman as Drover

Nicole Kidman as Lady Sarah Ashley

Brandon Walters as Nullah
*BONUS*

Just because I love how he looked in this pic. I swear, my heart stopped when he appeared looking like that. Total EYE CANDY, baby XD

The classic 'Kissing in the rain' scene.

This movie is definitely worth watching and I don't think I'll forget this work of art. Go watch it in the cinemas NOW if you still have the chance!
